Swimming Pool Compliance Requirements
We would like to inform all property owners of an important legislative change taking place, that will effect a large number of homeowners and investors.
This legislation will affect you, if you own a property, which has a swimming pool or spa that is capable of being filled to a depth at or above 300mm.
If this is the case, you have until the deadline of April 29 2016 to obtain a valid certificate of compliance before you lawfully can offer the property for lease or for sale. This will not be required if you have an occupation certificate which included the swimming pool or spa, that is less than three years old.

This deadline will come sooner than you anticipate.
Obviously there will be a last minute rush as many homeowners and landlords will be unaware and this will create a backlog for those who are qualified to provide the certificate.
It would be wise to therefore take immediate action to obtain this certificate, as it would be frustrating and costly if you can’t offer your property for sale or lease, until you do comply.
